Eco-Friendly Travel to Obala Ultra Trail

At Obala Ultra Trail powered by I Feel Slovenia, we encourage all runners to reduce their environmental footprint and choose sustainable travel options whenever possible.

By selecting greener transportation methods, we collectively protect the beautiful trails, coastline, and nature that make this event truly unique.

TRANSPORTATION

Choose public transport whenever possible

All participants are kindly invited to arrive in Izola by train, bus, shuttle transfer, or shared ride.

The Koper railway station offers excellent international connections and frequent local buses to Izola (15 minutes).

If you are arriving by plane, you can continue your journey to Izola by train, bus, shuttle service, or shared transport.

FREE Shuttle Buses to All Start Locations

To reduce traffic and emissions, all runners will be transported to the starting points with organized buses:

  • Dekani (OUT 108 km)
  • Hrastovlje (OUT 64 km)
  • Korte (OUT 17 km)

There is no need to use your personal vehicle at the start — simply arrive at the main meeting point in Izola, and we take care of everything.

How to Get to Izola?

By Plane

  • Trieste Airport (75 km) – ~1 h
  • Ljubljana Airport (130 km) – ~1 h
  • Venice Marco Polo (180 km) – ~1 h 30 min
    → Continue your trip by shuttle transfer, bus, train, or shared

By Train

  • Arrive at Koper railway station, then continue with a 15-minute bus ride to Izola.

By Bus

  • Izola is well connected by regular regional and international lines from Koper, Ljubljana, Trieste, Zagreb and other major cities.

By Car (only if necessary)

  • Easy access from motorways coming from Italy, Austria/Germany, and Croatia.
  • Sustainability tip: share your ride with friends or fellow runners.
  • Motorhome parking is available 50 m from the EXPO area.
